Introduction

Increasing pressure on costs and efficiency, a lack of skilled workers and persistent supply bottlenecks are challenging companies to optimize their business processes and make them profitable. Salesforce has proven itself as the world's leading CRM platform because it seamlessly connects sales, marketing and customer service. But how can companies ensure that all processes are interlinked in a meaningful way and that the data obtained is utilized in the best possible way?

This is where Process Mining comes in – with Celonis as a pioneer. The solution takes a close look at all processes and provides detailed insights.

What is process mining?

Process mining gives companies a precise view of their business processes. Instead of relying on assumptions, the technology shows how planned processes actually run. To do this, it evaluates the digital traces that each process step leaves behind, so-called event log data, and visualizes them in real time in a digital twin. This image usually reveals different processes to those originally planned.

Process mining platforms continuously monitor processes and uncover even the smallest deviations – such as above-average processing times or unusual loops. This gives companies a better understanding of how their organization works, where there are obstacles in the processes and why delays occur.

In practice, this can look like this: Sales uncovers inefficient steps in the quotation or contract phase and understands why opportunities repeatedly stagnate at certain decision points. Customer service recognizes where delays slow down customer support and which steps can be simplified in order to process inquiries more quickly. In marketing, process mining can show which measures can be used to generate leads most effectively.

How processes work: The expectation runs in a straight line, step by step. Reality runs in loops.

Do not always run as planned: Real business processes often do not correspond to the processes defined in advance.

What does Celonis do?

Celonis offers comprehensive process mining functions with its Execution Management System (EMS), the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform. Since its foundation in 2011, the Munich-based company has become the global market leader in its field. In addition to the powerful, data-based process mining analyses, there are several reasons for this:

Process Intelligence

Celonis goes beyond pure analysis and enriches the process mining results with machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), structured and unstructured data. Based on this, it makes recommendations on how processes can be specifically optimized and can optionally also be implemented directly. Celonis calls this range of functions Process Intelligence.

Predictive process mining

Celonis recognizes potential bottlenecks at an early stage thanks to predictive AI. This allows companies to act proactively instead of just reacting. The AI models are constantly learning and their forecasts are becoming increasingly accurate and reliable.

Broad system integration

Celonis offers open and standardized interfaces as well as a public online repository. This and the remaining APIs allow it to be easily integrated into CRM and ERP systems and existing IT landscapes.

In addition, the open source streaming platform Apache Kafka supports the management of log, error and event data.

Intuitive dashboards

Celonis displays even complex processes and KPIs visually and clearly, making it easier to evaluate and optimize them – even without technical background knowledge.

Celonis Process Explorer shows the defined process path and its deviations.

Process Discovery in Celonis: Users can track the defined process path, the so-called Happy Path, and its deviations.

Advantages of integrating Salesforce and Celonis

Salesforce is a powerful tool. However, without process mining, valuable insights are denied. The CRM system contains vast amounts of data. However, companies usually only see excerpts from individual departments or functional areas instead of cross-departmental workflows. Manual evaluations of the entire processes are also time-consuming and prone to errors. Bottlenecks, inefficiencies or long waiting times therefore often go unnoticed.

The combination of Salesforce and Process Mining with Celonis helps to uncover these bottlenecks and make better use of the database.

Transparency and data-based decisions

Celonis can be easily integrated into Salesforce via the standardized interfaces. Decision-makers and process managers can thus see all relevant information and analysis results in one application. This expands their view of the processes and leads to faster and more informed sales decisions. Concrete optimization suggestions can be used in Salesforce.

Efficiency and cost reduction

Especially in times of economic uncertainty, it is crucial to reduce costs and use resources efficiently. Celonis identifies weak points and automation potential in Salesforce processes, for example in lead qualification, ticket processing or campaign management.

Through targeted improvements, companies can save time, reduce costs and increase productivity. With more precise sales forecasts, you can significantly increase your closing rates. At the same time, sales staff can concentrate on strategic tasks as manual processes are automated.

Stronger customer loyalty

Optimized workflows in Salesforce increase customer satisfaction. They enable faster response times, targeted communication and a seamless customer journey. The result is satisfied customers who remain loyal – a decisive competitive advantage, especially in highly competitive markets.

Scalability and future-proofing

The integration of Salesforce and Celonis offers companies the opportunity to not only improve their processes for the moment, but also to make them scalable and future-proof. Companies that continuously analyze and optimize their processes are more agile and better prepared for future challenges.

Advanced analysis capabilities

The integration allows real-time data from Salesforce to be combined with the analytical capabilities of Celonis. This enables a deeper analysis of customer interactions and business processes and in turn leads to faster and more informed sales decisions.

Salesforce and Celonis in practice

Abstract process strategies are a thing of the past. With Celonis’ process mining software, companies can learn to understand their processes and align them with their individual requirements in a practical way. The following scenarios show how sales, customer service and marketing can benefit from an integration of Salesforce and the Celonis EMS.

A company’s sales staff spend a lot of time manually entering data. They also lack an overview of which leads should be prioritized. Delayed processing of leads leads to low closing rates and execution gaps. This means that the sales activities actually carried out deviate so much from the planned activities that sales targets are difficult to achieve.

Celonis analyzes the entire lead-to-cash process and identifies bottlenecks and process gaps. Salesforce then derives data-based recommendations as to which leads should be prioritized, implements this prioritization and automates selected workflows. In addition, it now automatically sends reminders to sales employees so that they can follow up on leads in good time.

The result: higher completion rates thanks to targeted prioritization and faster response times.

Why investing in Celonis is worthwhile

Process Mining with Celonis closes the gap between planned and real processes. Thanks to real-time analyses and AI-based recommendations, it provides a measurable advantage. Together with Salesforce, this not only increases efficiency, but also impresses customers with reliable service and a personalized approach.

Data decides who is ahead in the market. That's why integrating Salesforce and Celonis is a worthwhile investment. Companies save costs and time, strengthen their customer relationships and prepare themselves for future requirements. AI further enhances these effects because it learns with every additional data set collected and can provide more precise recommendations for action.

The question should no longer be whether companies use process mining, but how quickly they can do it to secure competitive advantages. Celonis and Salesforce are positioning themselves here as an extremely powerful duo that raises efficiency and customer satisfaction to a new level.
