Multi-factor authentication is one of the most effective and secure ways to protect your user accounts from unauthorized access. The previously optional option of securing an account will become mandatory from February 1st, 2022.
Due to increasing cybercrime, Salesforce relies on the MFA method, because logging in with a username and password may no longer be sufficient today. The MFA method uses two or more stages to verify you. This can be done via app, token or via third-party MFA (such as the Microsoft Authenticator).
